Kitchen Porter (Kettles Cafe)

Vacancies have arisen within The Brewhouse Kettles Café team for the post of Kitchen Porters. 

Job Role: 
Reporting to the Chef on duty, the selected candidate will be responsible for the cleaning of utensils and dishes during service and to keep the service and client areas clean and sanitized at all times.  

The main duties will include but not solely:

• Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas as well as kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills;
• Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during shifts and at the end of shifts;
• Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment;
• Ensuring that food mixers, cookers, and other cooking equipment are in good working order;
• Receiving and unpacking all deliveries;
• Emptying, re-lining, and washing garbage cans as per restaurant procedures;
• Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized;
• Assisting the Chef with basic food preparation, which includes washing, peeling, and cutting meal ingredients as per the Chef's instructions;
• Cleaning all floors at beginning and end of shifts and during when requested or if not busy;
• To follow time checks on toilets and other cleaning schedules.

Most important you need to:

• Completed secondary level of education;
• Preferably is in possession of a food handler's license;
• Have proven experience assisting in a kitchen environment;
• Have working knowledge of food health and safety regulations;
• Have the ability to work as part of a team;
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Have the ability to stand for extended periods.
