👨‍🍳 We’re Hiring a HEAD CHEF 👩‍🍳

SA/MI/ZU is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

The role of a Head Chef, involves a range of responsibilities primarily focused on managing kitchen operations. Here are some key duties typically associated with this position:

  • Active Service: Rostered shifts in the kitchen and also managing functions/events. 
  • Menu Creation: Designing and developing menus that align with the establishment's atmosphere and customer preferences.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that all food served meets established standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Staff Management: Hiring, training, motivating and supervising kitchen staff. This includes scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to minimise waste and optimise costs.
  • HACCP: Implementing and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards within the kitchen.
  • Budget Management: Managing the kitchen budget, controlling food costs, and maximising profitability.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests and the Marketing department on campaigns. 
  • Creativity and Innovation: Keeping up with culinary trends and experimenting with new recipes to keep the menu fresh and exciting.

This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency of kitchen operations and the overall dining experience. Strong leadership, culinary skills, and a passion for food are essential for success in this position.
