Hotel Mistral in St. Julian's, which forms part of Meliá Hotels International in Malta, is currently looking to recruit a Front of House Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Front of House Supervisor. As the Front of House Supervisor, you will work closely with the Front of House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel and ensure smooth functioning across all departments. Your focus will be on maintaining exceptional guest experiences, optimizing operational efficiency, and fostering a positive working environment for our colleagues.

What will I be doing?

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner in accordance with Hotels’ standards  
  • Assist in monitoring departmental performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to enhance overall service quality
  • Ensure the desk is covered at all times
  • Have full awareness of the current daily status of the Hotel
  • Ensure smooth handover to the next shift
  • Assist the FoHM in planning, organizing, and coordinating daily hotel operations to achieve maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Process all payments according to established procedures   
  • Up-sell rooms when possible, to maximize hotel revenue
  • Complete any required reporting (financial and non-financial)
  • Act as a point of contact for guest complaints and concerns, addressing issues promptly and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction   
  • Collaborate on and follow company policies, practices and procedures in order to maintain internal controls
  • Assist in monitoring and coordinating F&B activities, providing support as needed during service
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to oversee property maintenance and ensure that all facilities are in excellent working condition
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

What are we looking for?

  • Candidate must be available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Must be fluent in English; other languages are preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a fast environment in the same or similar position in a hotel/boutique hotel
  • Passionate for Hospitality and with a strong attitude to interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge of Opera Cloud and basic Reservation tasks are highly regarded.
