Is-Suq tal-Belt in Malta is looking to recruit a Chef Tournant to join their team on a full-time basis.  The selected candidate will be the direct link between the Executive Market Chef and Sous Chef and is expected to perform any culinary task at any station and serve as an intermediary between chefs. Ultimately responsible to ensure all communication, standards, policies, and expectations are communicated to his/her team and then executed flawlessly. The chef tournant’s objectives are achieved through communication, organization, and training.


Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring all food is prepared fresh and is of the highest quality.
  • Strictly adhering to all recipes, methods and instructions from the supervisor.
  • Coaching and monitoring team members professionally to minimize deficiencies and provide encouragement.
  • Striving to improve the flow of production and all other outputs by submitting ideas in writing to Sous Chef.
  • Ensuring recipes are constantly updated to reflect changes created by availability or direction from Executive Market Chef
  • Maintaining HACCP standards.
The ideal candidate would have:
  • Be able to speak, read and write fluently in English.
  • A culinary school diploma.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
