The Breakfast Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes in a timely manner. This role requires early starts, strong culinary skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small morning team. The Breakfast Chef ensures that guests start their day with a delicious and well-presented meal, reflecting the standards of the establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast dishes according to menu and dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free).
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and workstations at all times.
  • Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or ordering needs.
  • Minimise food waste through proper storage, preparation, and portioning.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth morning operations.
  • Clean down the kitchen and equipment after breakfast service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a breakfast chef, line cook, or similar role in a hotel or restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast cuisine (continental, full English, American, etc.).
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently during early hours.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
