Job Description
The Xara Collection in Malta is looking for a Breakfast Chef who loves working with great ingredients and a skilled team, to work alongside our talented chefs and assist in our busy breakfast service. The Xara Palace has earned a reputation for being a much-loved Maltese institution and as one of the Premier Maltese restaurants decorated with a Michelin star.

The group’s diversified portfolio comprises the award-winning fine dining de Mondion perched on Mdina’s bastions, the cozy al fresco Trattoria located in the palace’s courtyard but as well, catering services, and hr Xara Lodge, an events center just outside Mdina. The common thread: we pride ourselves in featuring cuisine that is second to none and focuses not only on the quality of its dishes but as well on innovation and experience.

The impact you will have:

• As a Breakfast Chef at Xara Palace hotel, you will master our menu, with your food being the reason guests keep coming through our doors!
• You’ll thrive in a fast-paced service, monitor food portioning, food cost, and waste control to maintain profit margins whilst delivering a high level of service to a 17-bedroom hotel.
• You will have the knowledge and full awareness of all the menus and help the senior chef in developing new menus.
• You’ll enjoy being part of a team and love the fact that no day is the same.

About you:

• As our ideal candidate, you will have a passion for hospitality and attention to detail
• You are self-motivated and able to work independently
• Well organised, you have the ability to work in a systematic Kitchen and have a proven background working within food-led kitchens.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and operate in a changeable environment
• This is a morning Job (Monday to Friday 6:30 to 15:00) and as punctually is the key, you will ideally have personal transport.
