Bartender

XVI Boutique Hotel in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Bartender to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
Seeking to recruit a Bartender to join our bar team. The primary responsibility of the bartender is to provide an excellent drinking experience and work closely with the Head Bartender and Management on overseeing the operations for the bars within the restaurant and hotel to achieve the best level of guest satisfaction, revenue, and cost control.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials
• Upselling and topping up customer drinks where necessary
• Developing new cocktail recipes
• Stock and replenish bar supplies, including beverages, glassware, garnishes, and utensils, and notify management when inventory levels are low
• Monitor and manage bar inventory, tracking usage, and reporting discrepancies to management
• Ensuring the bar is ready for service at the appropriate time with the correct items
• Collaborating with the kitchen and waiting for staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery and provide assistance during peak service hours
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
• Operating and processing customer payments accurately
• Handling customer complaints and concerns professionally, seeking resolutions and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Staying updated on industry trends, new drink recipes, and emerging products to provide innovative and exciting offerings to customers
• Acting at all times in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Our desirable profile:

• Fluent in English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French)
• Previous strong bartending/mixology experience in a similar position in a hotel/resort with an international bar list
• Possesses job and product knowledge, including knowledge of wine, spirits, mixed drinks, and bar set-ups
• Possesses full knowledge of Bar menus, ingredients, allergens, garnishes, and presentations
• Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.

XVI Boutique Hotel:
XVI is a new boutique hotel by the sea, located on the North coast of Malta and set within an 18th-century restored building. It is named after the 16 suites it houses and the Louis XVI style, of which it is reminiscent. Set on two floors, it boasts a very artistic and chic take on the opulent French-Italian neo-classic style, complemented by a pool bar on the top floor. Opening Summer 2023.
