Meliá Hotels International in Malta is looking to recruit an Assistant Executive Housekeeper to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supervises and coordinates the activities of room attendants, house attendants, public area cleaners, and floor supervisors. The person will assist in managing and directing the day–to–day operations of all Housekeeping and laundry functions. This role reports to the Executive Housekeeper.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervision of all Housekeeping personnel.
  • Cooperates coordinates and communicates with Section Heads as required.
  • Directs the work assignments of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel.
  • Identifies training needs, assists in developing formal training plans, and implements training sessions.
  • Interacts with guests as well as individuals outside the hotel, such as suppliers, contractors, outsourcing companies, and competitors.
  • Monitors Housekeeping personnel to ensure all guests receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Monitors Housekeeping personnel to ensure all rooms including repeat guests, members, and other VIPs receive any special attention as required.
  • Inspects all guest and public areas on a regular basis to ensure that the furnishings, facilities, and equipment are clean and well-maintained.
  • Assists in monitoring and controlling Housekeeping procedures that provide for the health and safety of personnel and guests, such as lost and found service, key control, security, and emergency, and environmental procedures.
  • Contributes towards other hotel activities as appropriate
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

 
What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge of Opera System
  • High level of English and a second language
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a managerial role at a hotel of a similar category
  • Strong communication and customer relations skills
  • Highly organized, and results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
