Malta Public Transport Services (Operations) Limited in Malta is looking to recruit a Quality & Safety Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the development, coordination, and monitoring of strategic and operational plans to improve Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental standards;
Defining procedures and processes of all the departments of the organization to have a complete view of the organization;
Conducting business re-engineering reviews on existing and new procedures with the aim of improving customer service, reducing cost and increasing efficiency, strengthening internal controls and consistency, and improving quality;
Liaising with the departmental teams to discuss changes in existing procedures, drafting new processes, and preparing annual internal control audits;
Follow up on processes issued and amend as required, including the management reviews and control of non-conformities;
Carry out checks and reviews to ensure compliance with established policies relating to health and safety, environmental and quality standards across the organization;
Assist in the continuous certification and internal audits of ISO 9001, 45001, and other ISO standards;
Assist in the elaboration of KPIs and accident information to identify trends, areas for improvement, training and development opportunities, and any other preventive or corrective measure that can improve health and safety, environmental and quality standards;
Attend the monthly Safety Committee meetings;
Assistance and elaboration of Traffic and Occupational Accident reports as may be necessary to establish cause and identify improvements to mitigate risk;
Usage of ARTAI system;
Carry out alcohol and drug tests on employees as may be required;
Daily contact with the employees from all departments of the company;
Any other task assigned by the Health and Safety and Quality Manager.
Requirements:
Tertiary level of education preferably in quality and safety background;
Working experience as a Quality Coordinator (for ISO Certification) or a similar position;
Hands-on experience in quality (ISO Certification), implementing and monitoring standards will be considered an asset.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English;
Result-oriented with strong organizational skills;
High level of business literacy skills;
Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills;
Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative;
Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
