Health & Safety Officer

As part of the pre-opening team, the Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for minimizing or removing the risk of accidents, work-related illnesses and injuries in the workplace. They maintain the safety information of an organization and promote safety compliance by shaping new protocols and strengthening existing health and safety policies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Compile safety programs
• Practice safe working techniques
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards
• Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations
• Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques
• Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent
• Identifying hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly
• Promote safety initiatives
• Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance
• Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management
• Regularly inspect equipment
• Performs other duties as required.

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of prior experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety rules and regulations
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills 
• Attention to detail to spot various hazards and complete investigations 
• Strong writing skills for creating reports and policies.
