Ably Resources are currently on the search for a site-based Health & Safety Manager for one of their clients who is a large main building contractor undertaking a prestigious multi €million projects in Malta. The selected candidate is urgently required to work with two H&S Officer level individuals supervising subcontractors on site.
Responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day monitoring of the site by regular inspections and onsite interactions and guidance to all workers on different levels.
Certification control of equipment and competence of personnel, this includes but is not limited to:
Lifting equipment
Electrical Certifications
Fire and Safety equipment
Scaffolding Maintenance checks and re-certifications
Heavy machinery certification
Operators certificates and more.
Coordinating and organising onsite training via 3rd party personnel.
Make sure that Risk Assessments are being followed.
Regular Toolbox talks onsite
HSE Induction training for new personnel.
Day-to-day reporting to Site Manager.
Weekly and Monthly progress report on on-site safety, and LEED reporting on environmental issues.
Communicating with local Authorities and making sure we are complying with local legislation.
Weekly internal safety meetings
Weekly safety meeting with Clients' Representatives.
Accident investigation.
Continuous support to all levels in the company.
PPE monitoring
Administration of HSE related office work.
Communicating with Subcontractors and making sure they are compliant with Local Legislation.
Applicants will:
Hold a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or Health & Safety related qualifications
Be fluent in written and spoken English (Maltese speaking would be beneficial but not essential)
Possess experience in a construction-related health & safety position
Demonstrate good computer skills
Have an outstanding ability to communicate with all levels of site staff
