Job vacancy: Compliance and Health & Safety Coordinator

As a Compliance and Health & Safety (H&S) Coordinator you will primarily be responsible for the compliance and coordination of the day-to-day health and safety activities within the Malta offices.

The ideal candidate will effectively assist the Malta Facilities Team by identifying and managing all compliance and Health & Safety issues and improvements. Also including performance monitoring, and compliance and Health & Safety obligations within Statutory and Mandatory legislation relevant to both Malta and UK standards.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent such as NCRQ, NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety. Membership of professional Health & Safety body desirable.
  • Strong IT skills is essential and experience of working with CAFM systems is desirable.
  • Ability to manipulate data through the use of IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety management system standards.
  • Experience of Health & Safety audits and associated compliance and assurance activities.
  • Experience of Health & Safety incident investigations. Ensure legislative changes, codes of practice, industry best practice for all service streams are in place.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Relevant experience of managing safety in a corporate environment or facilities services provision. Planning and Project Management skills are essential.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and maintaining policies, processes, and procedures related to Health and Safety.
  • Minimising service interruption and loss through well-practiced emergency and incident plans including management of fire drills.
  • Assisting in the progression and maintenance of the Health & Safety management systems.
  • Acting as a DSE champion responsible for workstation e-learning rollout and any follow-up requirements for users.
  • Carrying out First-aid responsibilities, assessment of needs, training, re-certification, evac-chair training, etc.
  • Assisting the Engineering Manager with all compliance and statutory requirements, asset data, and maintenance inspections used by CAFM system.
  • Periodically conduct audits and reviews to ensure execution of compliance and Health & Safety standards across the facilities function and via subcontractors.
  • Supporting department managers by reviewing RAMS for all subcontractors prior to works being approved.
  • Implementing a compliance monitoring plan and audit calendar for Malta properties, to measure the organisation's adherence to local, EU and UK applicable laws/regulations/standards.
