Aviation Services Handling Limited is currently looking to recruit a Ramp Operations Manager at Malta International Airport to join their team on a full-time basis.
The Manager (Ramp/Technical Ramp) leads teamwork with airport agencies and airlines to improve ground handling standards and performance. He/She updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect changes in technology, regulations and performance expectations. He/She also leads the development of SOPs to reduce safety or security risks and ensures safety or security standards are followed. He/She develops team members' technical capabilities and maintains their positive morale. He/She proposes new productivity and innovation initiatives and develops partnerships with diverse groups of stakeholders.
He/She possesses strong social and people management skills to develop and maintain good relationships. He/She is a strategic thinker and is able to formulate ramp and technical ramp operational plans. He/She is adaptable and is able to handle stress and tight deadlines. He/She has excellent communication and computer literacy skills.
Main Roles:
Address complaints and key concerns impacting staff morale and performance
Analyse customers' needs to customise products and services
Approve proposed changes to the current ramp and technical ramp processes based on irregularities reported
Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions
Develop solutions to eliminate hazards for ramp and technical ramp operations
Develop staff through capability development and coaching
Develop strategies for ramp and technical ramp operations
Develop strategies to reduce the cost impact of aircraft damages and irregularities during ramp and technical ramp operations
Develop systems to ensure safety or security standards are followed
Identify possible safety or security risks and develop plans to reduce them
Lead continuous improvement projects to improve work safety or security
Lead organisational change management
Modify ramp and technical ramp operations while taking note of technological changes, compliance changes and airlines expectations
Plan strategies to communicate changes to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Propose initiatives to enhance work productivity and innovation
Recommend new products and services
Update authorities regarding aircraft schedules, requirements and services needed
Work with airlines and authorities to develop SOPs
Work with airport agencies and airlines to enhance ground handling services standards and expectations.
