Our client is a full service building and civil engineering group of companies with decades of local experience. They are currently looking to employ a Head of Operations.
Responsibilities:
Assessing organisational structure and recommending changes to optimise the structure and efficiency
Developing the right KPIs to measure and forecast performance for top line growth, efficiency and other areas
Driving the business development and identify new opportunities and exploit them
Assisting in the recruitment process of employees in accordance with projects on the company's portfolio and ensuring that the correct planning procedures are in place
Leading the pricing division of the company in terms of generation Bill of Quantities and Programs of work:
Construction projects which do not fall within the remit of the Technical department
Property development projects
Assisting the Technical Department
Providing the Chief Executive Officer with:
Continuous feedback regarding on-going construction projects
Recommendation on how to improve operational efficiency
Accurate and detailed cashflow forecasts at the planning stages of each construction projects based on BOQs & POWs whilst assisting with financing requirements
Monitoring cost control and projects scheduling which is performed by the projects Department ensuring that regular updates are provided to the Finance Department in a timely manner
Acting as the main point of contact between department whilst ensuring that procurement of building materials to site are done in a timely manner and that turnkey projects are delivered on time and according to POWs
Continuously monitoring the allocation of employees on individual construction sites ensuring maximum efficiency and control of overtime
Partnering with the Senior Leadership Teams to evaluate current strategies to secure growth and continued success
Holding regular meetings with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure that the cashflow and profitability targets are being met and operating budgets are being monitored on a regular basis
Skill-sets and Requirements
Being able to lead a number of people form different backgrounds and cultures
Coordinating operations through teamwork
Must have effective leadership, organisational and analytical skills
Maximising management tools
Posses a above average business acumen
Clear and concise communication skills and managerial courage
Education & Experience
3 to 5 years experience in the construction industry
Tertiary level of education (NVQ 6) or a Management degree
