Banqueting Manager

Job Description
Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa is currently looking for a Banqueting Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Job Role:

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Banqueting Manager is responsible for managing all banqueting and events activities to deliver an excellent guest experience while optimising sales, evaluating performance, and ensuring staffing levels meet demand.

Responsibilities:

• Directly responsible for the upkeep of all Banqueting Areas including Meeting Rooms, Terraces, Foyer and Banqueting BOH areas and stores
• Directly responsible for setting up and dismantling Hotel AV equipment including giving training to all Banqueting team members for the good usage and storage of the said equipment
• Recruit, manage, train and develop the banqueting team
• Propose ideas to build the range and quality of the service offered
• Delegate all relevant information to ensure that all Banqueting Team is well informed and always ready for any banquet/ function within the hotel
• Interact positively with DMCs and end clients making sure the hotel offers maximum flexibility and assistance at any time required
• Ensure correct usage of resources including Linen and AV equipment
• Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
• Actively participate during Events Meetings and assist the Sales Team with setup recommendations and layouts for all Banquet activities within and outside of the Hotel
• Maintain good communication with all departments to ensure guest service needs are met. 

Requirements:

• Have previous similar experience within a 5-star hotel environment with a Record of success in banqueting, specifically the ability to deliver profit, control costs, and build customer loyalty
• Have knowledge of AV systems
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have exceptional leadership skills
• Be able to address guest's needs and demands
• Have an eye for detail and a smart appearance
• Be a team player
• Flexible with working hours.
