National Lottery Plc in Malta is looking to recruit a District Gaming Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.
Job role:
Reporting directly to the Retail Operations Director, this position requires an organized individual who will oversee the operations of a set of retail betting and lottery shops. The District Gaming Manager will assume responsibility for the overall success of these retail shops by ensuring that revenue targets are met, supervising betting store attendants, and maintaining effective quality control and customer care.
Candidates must be skilled in managing diverse functions within retail operations, must have a strategic mindset, and are excellent leaders. Abilities in financial data analysis, staff rostering, and operations planning are key attributes for this role.
The goal is to ensure that the retail operation will meet and exceed expectations of business growth and efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Formulate business growth strategies to ensure long-term success
Set standards and objectives for the betting and lottery shops
Optimize and oversee operations to ensure efficiency
Lead a team of betting store attendants toward effective collaboration and attainment of goals
Undertake sound financial management decisions to ensure shops profitability
Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and operational guidelines
Deal with problems by providing creative and practical solutions
Evaluate performance using key metrics and address issues to improve it
Assist with the recruitment of betting store attendants
Manage employee performance and absenteeism
Prepare weekly rosters, manage leave and leave requests
Report to senior managers on progress and issues
Assist upper management in decisions for expansion and acquisition.
Talent Profile:
Proven experience in a similar managerial role
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
Gaming knowledge is considered an asset but not essential
Good knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and principles
Sound understanding of retail operations
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
High level of flexibility
Strong customer service skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and time-management skills.
