About Enforcement:

The Enforcement Function is responsible for reviewing the actions and where necessary conducting investigations of licence holders who have or are suspected of having committed serious compliance failures, serious misconduct or any other serious breaches of the law. The Enforcement Function also investigates the actions of persons carrying out financial services activities without having the necessary licence or authorisation.

The Role:
When taking on this role you will work closely with and support senior management within the Enforcement Function. As a Junior Assistant, you will primarily be reviewing the actions and assisting senior management in conducting the investigations of financial services licence holders or other authorised persons and/or their officials who have or are suspected of having committed serious compliance failures, serious misconduct or any other serious breaches of applicable laws, regulations, rules or other regulatory requirements. The Junior Assistant will also be responsible for assisting senior management in the investigation of persons carrying on financial services activities without having the necessary licence or authorisation.

Within this role your duties will include:
  • Coordination and cooperation with supervisory functions within the MFSA;
  • Discussing investigative strategy with senior management;
  • Collection of information, documentation and evidence;
  • Analysing, assessing and discussing findings of investigations;
  • Investigation of dubious and/or fraudulent activities or schemes;
  • Internet searches and investigations;
  • Preparing notices and warnings to the public;
  • Other duties and tasks may be assigned by senior management.


About You:
To qualify for this role, you will need to be currently reading for a first degree (MQF Level 6) in any of the following subjects: accounting, law, criminology, banking, finances, economics, or insurance.

The following skill set is a must for this position:

  • The ability to multi-task and work on own initiative;
  • The ability to work in a team;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Have a desire to learn.
