About Conduct Supervision:

The Conduct Supervisory section is responsible for the setting up and implementation of the regulatory framework aiming to secure appropriate consumer protection in the operations of licence holders in the financial services industry. The Conduct Supervisory section with a cross-sectoral function covering under its remit supervision in the conduct of credit institutions, securities, trustees, company service providers, as well as insurance and pensions. The Conduct Supervision function comprises a team dedicated to the authorisation of trustees, other fiduciaries and company service providers.

The Role:
As Analyst, you will be entrusted with the below duties and responsibilities:
  • Conduct first reviews of applications for authorisation to provide trustee or fiduciary services or to act as a company service provider, in compliance with the requirements of local law and regulations;
  • Process appointments of approved positions as well as changes in qualifying shareholding of authorised trustees/fiduciaries or company service providers;
  • Undertake second reviews of work as prepared by junior analysts in relation to an authorisation or approval;
  • Participate in meetings with potential applicants or licensed entities that operate in the trusts and/or CSPs sectors;
  • Dealing with regulatory queries as may be required;
  • Communicate effectively and persuasively at the right level and establish effective working relationships with key internal and external
  • stakeholders; and
  • Carry out other ad-hoc activities as may be determined by the Senior Manager, such as participation in projects, maintain or develop procedures as required.

About You:
We are looking for candidates with solid academic background in trusts, company law and the provision of corporate services. The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta. Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level. You will also possess a minimum of three (3) years working in the financial services. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred. If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
