A new job opportunity for a Tooling Manager is now available within a leading manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the Production Manager you will be responsible for:
Making or improving different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible such as jigs, fixtures, clamps or moulds
Managing a team of people and have budgetary responsibilities
All aspects of in-house tool manufacturing, maintenance
Leading and coordinating resources within the Toolroom to ensure all tooling are produced efficiently, on time and in line with quality standards
Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
Overseeing key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis
Analyzing technology trends, human resources needs and market demand to plan projects
Skill-sets and Requirements
This position is a highly active role, thus excellent teamwork and relationship management skills are essential
Excellent planning and organisational skills coupled with a drive for continuous improvement
Excellent leadership and communication skills with a results-oriented and hands-on approach to work
Experience in environments undergoing change management and restructuring would be considered an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering as a minimum
5 years experience in managing a Tool Shop, and the design, creation and validation of custom mechanical tooling
5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar management position ideally in a manufacturing setup
