As a Structural Engineer, you will form part of a small team and will be working alongside designers, draughtspersons and architects. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and analyzing structures mainly in domestic, industrial and commercial
Project management from inception to completion and certification of works
Liaising with other designers and architects, to agree on safe designs
Examining structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity
Preparing reports, designs and drawings
Making calculations about loads and stresses
Selecting appropriate construction materials
Providing technical advice and inspecting properties to check conditions
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
Liaising with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound
Education & Experience
Minimum 4 years experience in Structural Engineering
Competency in design and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel, diagnosing structural defects and providing solutions
Ability to carry out shorthand structural analysis and design by hand calculations
Proficient in the use of CAD and structural analysis software
Good verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English
Valid driver's license
