As the Plant Engineer you would be working closely with the Plant Manager, while providing direction for maintaining and operating all factory equipment and facilities through investigations and implementation of permanent solutions to any technical or maintenance problems affecting production schedules. Main duties are as follows:

  • Define and execute preventative maintenance plans
  • Design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures and methodologies
  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults whilst dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and critical repairs
  • Diagnose and resolve breakdown problems through root-cause analysis and technical troubleshooting
  • Establish and monitor programs for data collection, critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques
  • Propose and lead Continuous Improvement projects based on data analysis
  • Assist and coordinate the planning of technical training needed for the technical team
  • Supervise, develop and guide the technical team
  • Monitor KPI’s and budgets of the plant, production and quality standards closely at managerial level to lead and focus on improvement activities needed
  • Ensure GMP standards are met from a cleanliness and safety perspective
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements are met
  • Ensure standardisation of equipment (ie) check and calibrate instruments
  • Other ad hoc projects related to the operations of the plant

Core Working hours:  Monday to Friday - 8:00 to 17:00

This Plant Engineer position is with a leading manufacturing company in Malta.

Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Professional level of English is a must
  • Influential with leadership quality
  • Computer literate - MS Office and engineering design software
  • Analytical with good problem solving skills
Education & Experience
  • University degree level of education in Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years experience within a manufacturing environment is a must
  • Continuous Improvement Experience/Certification highly desirable
  • Experienced with GMP, ISO Standards, Safe Food Handling, HACCP practices and HSE guidelines
