Ably Resources Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit an M&E Project Manager to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The Project Manager is a key role responsible for managing ongoing M&E projects for a company. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the projects, including monitoring the installation activities on site, preparing job materials and tools, managing a team of technicians/installers, liaising with suppliers and customers, attending project meetings, and ensuring that all works are carried out according to the program of works, designs, and company standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage ongoing projects by being on-site regularly and in an effective manner
  • Prepare necessary material and tools for executing works
  • Monitor and maintain updated records of all material and tools used and returned from the site
  • Liaise with the Department Manager to ensure the timely purchase of material from suppliers and allocation of technicians/installers to respective works
  • Prepare necessary station designs under the supervision of the Department Manager
  • Manage a team of technicians/installers working on site by explaining installation requirements, monitoring their works, and ensuring timely completion of works to company standards
  • Liaise with suppliers for orders, designs, technical assistance, and guidance when required
  • Report any issues affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of running projects to the Fuel Department Manager and communicate any work amendments required during the execution of the job
  • Liaise with customers throughout the project to keep them updated on the progress of works and discuss or inform any changes required from customers or otherwise
  • Attend project meetings and liaise with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other necessary personnel for the successful running of works
  • Liaise with the drawing office for the successful execution of all necessary drawings
  • Assist with project administrative tasks as directed by the Department Manager, such as handling and preparing the necessary documentation for the successful execution of the project
  • Stay up to date with service station software and hardware
  • Assist maintenance team with maintenance works required on sites when necessary
  • Attend events, conferences, training, and factory visits both locally and abroad when required.


Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Engineering degree from a recognized local institution (mechanical or electrical engineering)
  • Experience in engineering projects, preferably in the fuel and/or mechanical and electrical industry
  • Professional and friendly approach when facing customers
  • Excellent deadline-setting and organizational skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions/guidance and communicate information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • A team player willing to learn and work as an integral part of the team
  • Willingness to learn and take all necessary training as directed by the company
  • Ability to travel abroad for work for short periods
  • Proficiency in English and preferably Italian; knowledge of Maltese would be an asset
  • Strong leadership and complaint-handling skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent scheduling and prioritization skills for self and others under their supervision.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Able to work well under pressure and deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Meticulous attention to detail and methodical and diligence in their work
  • Quality control/assurance minded
  • Flexible in approach and hours
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Awareness of hazards associated with the trade
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors.
