Job Description
De La Rue Currency and Security Print Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit an Engineer to join their team within the Product Cost Management on a full-time basis. 

Job description:
The strategic purpose of this role is to maximize the profit of products and/or business units by making products in the most cost-efficient and effective manner whilst adhering to the right quality levels as required by customers.

Activities include:

• Building a cost/profit conscious culture
• Building cost management into product lifecycle management
• DFM – Influence Design for Manufacture
• DTC – Influence Design for Cost
• DFSS – Influence Design for Six Sigma
• VA-VE – Drive Value Adding on existing products and Value Engineering on new products.
• Cost Price Targeting / Cost Estimates
• Make or Buy Business Case
• Technology and capital asset Business Case
• Capacity planning & adjustments
• To support decision making (cost and quality perspective)
• Develop the right product and process quality through continuous improvements activities, corrective and preventive actions
• To display the De La Rue values & behaviors.
• Support Process Managers with business decisions and support Production Managers with production decisions
• Is responsible for Clean NPI (cost and quality perspective)
• Is responsible for APQP for all products (PFMEA / Control plans / RICP / PQIS)
• Supports the Site and Division Quality Manager for group objectives
• Align to a standard set by the Site Quality Manager and the Division Quality Manager
• Team supports Quality Manager on CAT 1 complaints
• Is responsible for all complaints which are not CAT 1
• Is responsible for team training and compliance.

The selected candidate will:

• Hold a relevant degree in engineering or business management. (Technical diploma will also be considered if supported by relevant experience).
• Have 3 years of experience in a similar role, including experience in leading a group of direct reports.
• Be technically strong in cost estimating and reporting.
• Be experienced in data-driven decision-making.
• Have exposure to value-adding and value engineering processes.
• Ideally have lean manufacturing experience.
• Have the ability to organize large amounts of information into a coherent and meaningful format while working on multiple prospects simultaneously.
• Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and scheduling software being considered an asset.
• Have a commitment to lead, coordinate and supervise cross-functional team efforts.
• Have a proven ability to engage and successfully lead a team of people.
• Be an independent worker who can work well with minimal supervision.
• Be a fast learner with an ability to work well under stress.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and am meticulous.
• Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills.
• Be mature, proactive, resourceful, and hands-on with good initiative.
• Ideally be a 6-Sigma Green Belt.
• Ideally hold a Prince II qualification.
