Data Engineer

Our client, an innovative company which is part of a big international iGaming group, is seeking to recruit a Data Engineer to join their dynamic and ever-growing international team in Malta. The selected candidate will have a crucial role in the selection of the data technologies adopted and the development of the data pipelines across the ecosystem.

Responsibilities include:

• Taking the ownership of the data technology stack, its development and operation throughout.
• Being responsible for the implementation process of the data platforms to be adopted by the business.
• Communicating closely with third parties and service providers, as well as with the other team in anything related to data.
• Doing regular assessments to maintain the quality and keep the technology up to date across industry standards.
• Developing automated data pipelines required from the broad operational systems into the data warehouse.
• Developing a sound data architectural model to support the growth strategy of the business.
• Maintaining data-related documentation and proactively providing knowledge sharing sessions with fellow colleagues, possibly including training sessions.
• Using data analytics platforms, help develop reports and real-time dashboards required to understand the performance of the various insights and forecasts.
• Having a constant review of data pipelines to maintain the highest level of data quality.
• Supporting data-related queries and investigating any data quality issues which might be raised from time to time.

• Have minimum 3+ years hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience in the selection and implementation of new data platforms.
• Extensive experience in using cloud-based data warehouse, integration and visualization tools.
• Data warehousing experience ETL work and data modelling.
• Comfortable to work within an agile delivery framework.
• A qualification with a focus on data engineering would be an asset.
• Ability to work on own initiative and a high sense of responsibility.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

• Have a recognized IT related Diploma or Degree.
• Additional Certifications in Data Tools will be an asset.
