Our client, a key player within the insurance sector is seeking to recruit a Data Engineer to join their dynamic international team in Malta.  We are looking for a creative, dynamic individual who has an attention to accuracy and with a technology background.

Your responsibilities will include the following: 

  • Maintain and support data warehouses and cloud data services.
  • Ensure cost-efficient cloud data services configuration and architecture.
  • Develop data integration solutions using SSIS, Python, PowerShell and 365 toolsets.
  • Design, create and maintain relational databases and data systems.
  • Optimize database performance through reviews.
  • Troubleshoot code problems and data-related issues.
  • Develop technical workflows using different data modeling techniques and data mining.
  • Analyze business user needs, design, test, and develop BI and/or analytics-based solutions to satisfy demand using but not limited to SQL, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI.
  • Create reports and visualizations.
  • Responsible for understanding and meeting business user data requirements and manages business user expectations.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on data management products, services and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Write test plans and user acceptance testing cases for quality assurance.
  • Provide training to business users on solutions.
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Possess certifications in aspects of Microsoft Azure data services.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data engineering solutions with Azure Data Services, including specifically Data factory, Databricks and Pyspark.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively, either alone or within a team environment.
Education & Experience
  • University degree in Computer Science or in a related field or equivalent work experience
