Data Developer

A leading Bank in Malta is seeking to employ an Data Developer to join their team. Selected candidate must be able to work on own initiative with a can do attitude and able to work in a team.  

Responsibilities:

• Carry out all assigned tasks efficiently and effectively, in adherence with internal policies and procedures.
• Participate in the design and implementation of process improvements for the team.
• Participate in periodic system reviews to identify possible gaps and process inconsistencies and propose re-alignment strategies including the necessary training programmes.
• Assist in the architecture design and development of the Data Warehouse, including recoverability, resilience, data quality, data integrity and security in accordance with the Bank’s standards and industry best practices.
• Ensure that effective version control is maintained and to ensure, at all times, a current version of the documentation related to Data Warehouse architecture, data model and data dictionary.
• Monitor ETL jobs to guarantee maximum uptime and performance.
• Assist in the design and development of Data Warehouse integration with third party systems,  the development, and implementation of BI solutions.
• Assist the internal clients/end users in the definition of their business requirements.
• Create reports as per client/end user requirements.
• Assist and train end-users in the use of data query analysis and reporting tools.
• To promote the use of BI, BI initiatives, and Reporting tools.
• Build lasting relationships and liaise with various stakeholders.
• Submitting reports to the relevant departments in a timely and efficient manner
• To perform standard office tasks including processing mail, answering phone calls, ordering supplies, and filing.
• The candidate must also be willing to work on call and travel on occasion to attend training/conferences or manage supplier relations.

• Knowledge of Data Warehouse and BI Concepts; ETL techniques (ideally MS SSIS and SAP Data Services);
• Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and Transact-SQL; Data Reporting and KPIs (ideally MS SSRS and SAP Business Objects).
• Knowledge in the following would be considered an asset: C#, Python, Azure DevOps, OLAP Tools (MS SSAS)

• Possess a first degree level of education in IT or Engineering or equivalent specialised training in data warehousing and/or BI
