The National Statistics Office in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Administration Officer 4 (Survey interviewing) to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The ideal candidates should be skilful individuals who are keen to embark on a statistical career with a specialisation in survey interviewing as an Administration Officer 4.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating, supervising and monitoring data collection projects and processes
  • Acting as a senior survey interviewer for tourism surveys and other projects, in line with set methodologies, by personal or telephone interviewing
  • Administrative support in surveys and other projects as deemed necessary by the Head of Unit, including data entry, coding, and updating of registers
  • Assisting the senior management in administrative tasks such as scheduling
  • Reporting to the Data Management Unit on data collection procedures executed at points of data collection such as the Airport (Tourstat Survey).

Requirements:
By the closing time and date of this call for applications, applicants must be in possession of
  • A recognised Certificate at MQF Level 4 or better in a relevant subject area
OR
  • Two (2) Advanced Level subject qualifications relevant to the post, together with ten (10) years, or equivalent, of relevant experience
  • Applicants should note that the shortlisting procedure will be determined on the basis of the relevance of qualifications to the field of work.

Candidates are also required to have:

•     Excellent level of interpersonal skills
•     Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (preferably qualified with a European Computer Driving License - ECDL)
•     Good numerical and IT skills
•     Sound written and verbal communication skills in English language and any other official European language, preferably Maltese
•     The ability to work in a team and on individual projects
•     The ability to plan and manage multiple projects within stipulated deadlines.

This available vacancy is filled on the basis of the internal call result and, when exhausted, through the Expression of Interest and/or through Jobsplus procedures, as applicable

The prospective employee will be part of a team of Survey Interviewers, primarily stationed at the Malta International Airport (departures lounge) and work on a 12-hourly shift basis (day-night-rest-off).

At the discretion of the Management, Administration Officers 4 may be requested to work during office hours on a five-day week.

The post is based on an indefinite contract basis and has an annual salary of €23,372 in addition to other allowances attached to it during the year 2023. The remuneration excludes an annual shift allowance, and any overtime pay, which is reimbursed separately on an ad hoc basis, as need arises.
