Environment Resources Authority in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Senior Officer II (Support Services) to join their team on a full-time basis.


  • Develop, review and evaluate, in collaboration with the line superior the strategic plan for Support Services
  • Support the achievement of the Business Plan and organisational objectives through effective administration
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate the cleaning and maintenance workflow calendars
  • Manage, support and be responsible for employees within the team including handymen, cleaners, security, drivers, service providers and all other personnel which will be assigned from time to time
  • Plan, coordinate and ensure the implementation of the general repair, maintenance, general cleaning, gardening, landscaping, health and safety and security within the premises and any other property of the Authority
  • Prepares and calculates estimates on material costs for remedial works and raises requests for quotations
  • Raise recommendations for remedial works to be undertaken
  • Manage all repairs and maintenance, preventive maintenance and any related intervention requests raised by the Authority officials, and process such requests as necessary
  • Ensure the timely implementation of the related remedial cleaning, security and maintenance works
  • Prioritize, assign and coordinate works to employees within the unit and any approved works to the service providers
  • Follow-up works in progress, and monitor the efficiency and quality of work carried out by the employees or service providers
  • Ensure that all orders and payments are checked, authorized and recorded and full adherence with the public procurement and other financial regulations are adhered to
  • Oversee the overall management of the Authority fleet of vehicles including the inward and outward of vehicles while maintaining appropriate up keeping of such vehicles
  • Support and coordinate efforts in order to ensure all documents related to support services are appropriately classified, registered, captured, filed, retrieved and digitized through the Authority records management procedure
  • Monitor work carried out by external contractors and make sure that external contractors are not unattended when conducted works within Authority’s restricted areas
  • Oversee and maintain Health & Safety, Security and proper upkeeping of the main premises and other property that falls under the responsibility of the Authority
  • Respond to and pro-actively secure any Health & Safety matters, hazards or associated risks
  • Ensure that all fixed and moveable assets are well maintained, clean, safe and secure at all times
  • Investigates and writes reports on accidents and damages and conducts risk assessments
  • Respond to emergency calls when requested or deemed necessary.


  • Qualifications: A graduate Diploma in Social Studies (Occupational Health & Safety) MQF Level 5 or comparable qualification as recognised by MFHEA
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in support services performing similar work
  • Skills: Interpersonal, Leadership, Communication and Methodological.
