Head of Compliance

A key client of ours specialising in the Banking sector is currently looking to onboard a Head of Compliance to join their team of professionals:

Duties:

• Operating within the compliance framework of a local credit institution to ensure that
  the Bank is at all times compliant with all regulatory requirements under the Banking license
  including AML/CFT, MFSA Banking Rules, GDPR, EU Regulations and local legislation
• Research and analysis of forthcoming EU directives/regulations and local legislation (including EBA guidelines) and impact on operations
• Preparation of internal reports and gap analysis relating to the implementation of new regulatory requirements
• Assistance in drafting/reviewing internal policies and procedures and other governance, and regulatory-related documentation
• Assistance in the implementation and maintenance of the compliance monitoring framework and in managing client onboarding (account opening, AML and KYC, client risk assessment, as well as jurisdictional risk) and in the due diligence processes
• Drafting internal compliance reports and memos to the Board of Directors

• Regulatory compliance experience within an EU regulated financial services institution
• Strong work ethic, pro-active and professional work attitude
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both English and Maltese
• Able to work on own initiative, multi-task and prioritise their work load
• A minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role, within a leadership designation
• Must be eligible to be PQd by the MFSA

• Related Compliance qualifications, such as an ICA qualification is a must
