About Conduct Supervision:
Conduct Supervision is responsible for the setting up and implementation of the regulatory framework aiming to secure appropriate consumer protection in the operations of licence holders in the financial services industry. The Conduct Supervision section is a relatively newly-formed team which is projecting growth as it is gradually assuming a cross-sectorial function covering under its remit supervision in the conduct of credit institutions, securities, trustees, corporate service providers, as well as insurance and pensions. 

The Role:
Within this role, you will be joining the Financial Promotions team in the off-site supervision of the respective licence holders on a cross-sectorial basis (Investment Firms, Credit Institutions and Insurance Companies). Reporting to the Senior Manager within the Financial Promotions Team, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
  • Applying a Risk-Based Approach in the monitoring of the promotional efforts of the Regulated Entities, to ensure that the regulatory requirements in this regard are being complied with;
  • Assisting in carrying out an assessment of the disclosures being made to clients/customers of regulated entities to ensure that these are fair, clear and not misleading;
  • Conducting reviews on the periodic Conduct Related Returns submitted by regulated entities to ensure compliance with the Authority's reporting standards;
  • Assisting in extracting, collating and circulating data from regulatory reports collected by regulated entities, directly to European Supervisory Authorities; 
  • Assisting in the drafting of the material to be used for the educational campaigns to be launched during that year;
  • Carrying out ‘ad hoc’ assignments related to specific regulatory and supervisory issues that may arise from time to time (such as the review of the conduct-related disclosures included in the Offering Documentations) and reporting on the outcome of such assignments as may be appropriate.

About You:
We are looking for candidates with solid academic background in financial services, preferably with a focus on Marketing and/or Management; other relevant qualifications will also be considered. A relevant Post Graduate Degree and/or previous experience with data management tools would be considered an asset. The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level. You will also possess a minimum of three (3) years working in financial services.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
