The Malta Trust Foundation is currently looking for a part-time Mental Health Recovery Worker to join their team in Gozo on a part-time basis. 

Job Role:
This role is part of the Sunrise Project of The Malta Trust Foundation. It focuses on supporting service users suffering from mental health challenges and their families in their home environment and in the community, with the aim of supporting them to live independent life. 

Responsibilities:
  • To receive complex referrals from the MHS at Gozo General Hospital of potential mental health service users that would benefit from the Home Support Service
  • To meet the service users and their families if required and assess their past and current situation
  • To formulate together with the service users and their respective consultant psychiatrist an individualised care plan that focuses on areas in the service users daily living skills that require assistance and support
  • To encourage, empower and assist service users with long-standing, complex mental health issues to being compliant with medication
  • To provide ongoing psychosocial and practical support to reinforce the service-users strengths, work hand in hand with the service-user and respective caregivers to achieve realistic goals
  • To provide information to the service users and their families on mental health
  • To encourage the service users to engage in leisure activities through liaison with respective entities
  • To support with accessing the labour market where applicable according to the care plan
  • To liaise with different professionals from various entities in the best interest of the service user
  • To participate in review meetings on a regular basis
  • Record and keep up-to-date case files
  • To actively attend regular supervision sessions
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time, depending on the exigencies of the project.

Requirements:
  • A qualification in the Health or Social Sciences
  • Driving license and use of own car
  • Fluent in spoken Maltese and English.
