Healthmark in Malta is seeking to recruit a number of Child Care Educators to join their team on a full-time and part-time basis.
It is essential, that the candidate is in possession of MQF Level 4 (or equivalent) in Childcare which is recognised by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), or is following a course to achieve the same certification.
The selected candidates are expected to carry out various duties which include:
Job Description:
Supervises the children in an inclusive manner, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Provides a service that respects children’s life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race, and religion.
Planning and organizing individual and group activities designed to facilitate the development of children's motor, cooperative and social skills, confidence, and understanding
Promoting language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, and informal conversations and discussions
Observing children in order to evaluate progress and to detect signs of developmental, emotional, or health-related problems
Takes responsibility for the observation, assessment, monitoring, and recordkeeping of children’s learning and development using a variety of methods so that planning is backed by factual information.
Communicates regularly with the parents and the Childcare coordinator, both verbally and through handing over the booklet.
Carries out the necessary basic needs of all service users, which includes: changing nappies, potty training, and feeding (including preparing formulas).
Ensures that the dietary needs of service users are respected, both in the case of dietary conditions and cultural/religious traditions.
Decorate living and caring space for children and check the safety of the facility.
Working in Partnership with Parents/Carers:
Inform parents about the running of the organisation. Introduce programme of activities to children
Ensures a warm and welcoming approach to parents/carers who encourage their participation and involvement in the Centre’s activities.
Develops positive relationships with parents/carers and is sensitive to their needs.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
Clean police conduct
Ideally hold a certification of Basic First Aid and Paediatric First Aid Course, as well as Food Handling.
Experience of working with children as a care worker or volunteer or student placement is desirable.
