Job Role: Call for Services of a Psychotherapist (Programm Tbissima)

Programm Tbissima is a project led by the Malta Trust Foundation in collaboration with the Right to Smile Foundation. Programm Tbissima is a non-formal education program for children and youths in Marsa.

The role of the Psychotherapist: 
  • Plan and deliver psychotherapeutic group sessions for children/youth as required, to meet their developmental and psychosocial needs.
  • Provide psychosocial support during the group sessions (children/ youth) as required. 
  • Support a safe and nurturing environment for the children, youth, and project team. 
  • Support with issues such as depression, bullying, various mental health issues, and learning difficulties in children by providing appropriate.

Qualifications of Psychotherapist:
MQRIC Level 7 in Psychotherapy and a professional warrant.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Psychotherapist:
  • Observe and interact with children and young people and respond to what they might be communicating through their behaviour and play;
  • Plan and deliver psychotherapeutic group sessions for children/ youth as required, to meet their developmental and psychosocial needs;
  • Offering psychotherapeutic advice, training, consultation, and supervision group sessions to volunteers once a month; 
  • Delivering one–to–one therapy sessions with children and families as required;
  • Completing reports to the coordinator.

Terms of service:
  • The candidate will be engaged on a contract for service.
  • The successful candidate will be required to offer the service on a part-time basis.
  • The service may be required on any day/s of the week, between Monday and Saturday. 
  • Availability to work early afternoon and evenings.
  • Prior to the confirmation of employment, TMTF will perform the procedure required by the law regulating work with minors (POMA).
