MaritimeMT in Malta is looking to recruit a Reception and Accounting Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manning of the reception including meeting & greeting visitors, students, and customers
  • Onboard students and ensure their experience at MaritimeMT is worthwhile
  • Booking meetings and business travel
  • Sorting and distributing the post and responsible for the general info mailbox
  • Maintaining security and telecommunications systems, including answering and forwarding phone calls
  • Manage the open days, ad hoc visits, and tours at the Training Centre
  • Maintain proper upkeep of premises and equipment
  • Certificates process and registration
  • Administration of Data Management related to MaritimeMT participants' data, including records of participants
  • Handling daily accounting activities
  • Processing accounts receivables and payables, including the purchase order process, the payment run process, and supplier reconciliations
  • Monitor the cash and bank balance and perform monthly reconciliations
  • Handling daily Accounting activities up to the preparation of the Management Accounts
  • Providing support and assistance during the annual external audits
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, copying, binding, scanning, answering the telephone, reception duties, etc.


Requirements:

  • Ordinary or Advanced Level in Accounting (or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years experience would be considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft office programs mainly Word and Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative.

MaritimeMT:
Launched in May 2018, the MaritimeMT brand builds on the work and experience of the Mediterranean Maritime Research and Training Centre (MMRTC), which was established in July 2010 as the training arm of the Malta Maritime Pilots Co-operative Society (MMP). Established in March 2003, the Malta Maritime Pilots Co-operative Ltd. provides efficient marine vessel pilot services to the two main ports of Malta – the Grand Harbour and the Port of Marsaxlokk, as well as two smaller ports – that of Marsamxett and the Port of Mġarr, Gozo.  It also provides consultancies relevant to pilotage, navigation, and seafaring. MMRTC is itself a Co-operative and has been since its inception a DNV Certified facility with full accreditation as a maritime training center from Transport Malta. Today, operating under the brand name MaritimeMT, the center is a one-stop shop for training, education, information, research, and ancillary services for seafarers and shore-based personnel.  The holistic maritime curriculum which is constantly under review and development continues to strengthen the Training Centre's position as a hub that caters for the needs not only of the Malta maritime sector but also of the International maritime community. This is done through the three Academies entrusted with the provision of STCW Training & certification; Ship Handling courses; Commercial vessel accredited training, Super Yacht courses, and any other bespoke training whether for seafarers or for shore-based personnel.
