Senior Compliance Advisor

Our client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable person to join our team. This is a senior-level role for a compliance professional who will be expected to act as Compliance Officer and/or MLRO for of our clients.You will work directly with a portfolio of regulated entities to ensure they meet legal and regulatory obligations, implement effective compliance frameworks, and stay ahead of AML/CFT requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Act as appointed Compliance Officer and/or MLRO on clients across different regulated sectors including electronic money institutions (EMIs) and crypto-asset service providers, CASPs), amongst others
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of clients’ regulatory as well as AML/CFT compliance frameworks.
• Monitor compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (MFSA and FIAU)
• Conduct risk assessments, reviews, audits, and gap analyses across client operations
•  Provide strategic compliance advice and support on an ongoing basis as well as during regulatory inspections
• Deliver staff training, prepare reports for Boards and regulators, and assist with regulatory filings.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments and advise clients accordingly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance and a sound knowledge in AML/CFT and financial crime.
• Demonstrable experience in the regulated environment. Experience as an approved Compliance Officer and/or MLRO, would be considered as asset.
• In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks and related EU regulations.
• Experience within the fintech industry is an asset
