Salvo Grima Group Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate would be:
Motivated, reliable, accurate, and highly organised;
Collaborative, positive, and able to work to tight deadlines;
Able to problem solve, communicate clearly and work effectively in a team;
Ready to learn and follow ongoing training;
At an advanced stage in the studies leading to the ACCA qualification or in possession of a relevant graduate degree in accounts;
In possession of at least two years' experience in a similar role.
Duties include:
Supervising the maintenance of subsidiary ledgers and other financial records of one or more business units, supervising accounts officers;
Taking responsibility for preparing monthly management accounts;
Participating in Management meetings, presenting accounts and other financial reports, taking and distributing minutes;
Managing the cash-flow of assigned business units in coordination with the general managers or heads of assigned business units;
Preparing VAT returns and financial data required by the National Statistics Office or other official bodies and Government departments;
Supporting general managers/heads of assigned business units in setting annual budgets and in monitoring and analysing trading performance, operating costs, and capital expenditure;
Liaising with the group’s auditors;
Preparing up-to-date bank balances, debtor and creditor positions, and other financial data;
Contributing to the ongoing development and strengthening of internal controls.
