SaB Consulting is currently looking to recruit a Head Office Accountant to join their client's team on a part-time basis in Sliema, Malta.

The Client's Company:
With the recent establishment of Head Office in Malta, my client is a privately owned, highly entrepreneurial organisation providing foreign exchange and money transfer services from prime locations across mainland Europe, and Southern Africa. With an impressive track record of growth, the business has added exciting new trading locations and with the development of new financial service offerings, has created a need to strengthen its central support function.

Role Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Finance Office you will be a key player in the Group’s international accounting process that offers you a wide range of bookkeeping, accounting, and company secretarial responsibilities. You will manage the Group’s central bank accounts, provide efficient bookkeeping for several of the Group holding companies and administer many of the Group’s company secretarial and compliance tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile the Group’s head office bank accounts.
  • Reconcile and maintain Balance Sheet accounts on a regular basis including operational control accounts, AP, and AR.
  • Control and reconciliation of the Group’s intercompany loan arrangements.
  • Administration of all intercompany loan agreements, including renewal and extension authorisations.
  • Calculation and processing of loan interest charges.
  • Management and reconciliation of the group’s intercompany trading accounts.
  • Accounting responsibility for several group companies including preparation of regular financial statements.
  • Participation in the annual statutory audit, including coordinating with external auditors and handling international requests for documentation and testing.
  • Support to Group Compliance and Risk Director.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • ERP knowledge (BC, Navision, BI4 preferable)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and presentation skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
