Group Accountant

Our client, a prominent company operating in the Hositality & Retail sector is looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a Group Accountant. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operation of some companies within the group.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and handling the day-to-day accounting tasks including monthly reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other financial reports
• Preparing and filing of VAT returns, Eco Contribution returns and any other statutory reporting required
• Supervise and oversee the work of junior staff members
• Preparing reports for monthly management accounts
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Monitoring of credit control
• Assist with the annual audit
• Other ad hoc duties as needed from time to time

• A minimum of 1 year of previous local experience in a similar role up until the preparation of management accounts
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles
• Experience using Shireburn Financial Management, Opera PMS and Simphony will be considered an asset but are not essential as full training will be given
• Meticulous individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Candidates with a hospitality background will be given preference

• Candidates pursuing ACCA qualification or equivalent will be given preference but others with more experience will also be considered
