Financial Controller

Our client, a leading local company providing a variety of installation services is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their growing team. 

The selected person will be responsible for the setting up of the accounting function and have the following responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting duties such as billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
• Preparing the budget, financial forecasts and report variances as well as management accounts
• Reviewing of Payroll
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Managing and submitting VAT returns
• Researching technical accounting issues in relation to compliance
• Developing and updating business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Any other duties which may be required from time to time such as preparing business plans, planning and the ability to providing financial strategies

• Minimum 5 years of local experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese
• Possess excellent eye for detail and have a proactive approach
• Previous knowledge in EU fundings is considered an asset

• Fully qualified and locally warranted accountant
