Job Description:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficiency and strategic alignment of financial operations. This role is central to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and supporting business decision-making with financial insights. The Finance Manager reports to the Head of Finance and plays a key role in implementing financial strategies to enhance operational performance.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Manager with a strong understanding of financial processes and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimising financial procedures, ensuring financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial operations, ensuring processes are aligned and efficient
  • Manage the accounting function up to Trial Balance, including postings, accruals and prepayments
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and financial policies
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax fillings and other statutory financial obligations
  • Assist the Head of Finance in the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to support business decision-making
  • Supervise and optimise accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and industry standards

  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimise financial processes and reporting
  • Assist the Head of Finance in any other required duty related to financial matters
  • Support the Head of Finance in the development and implementation of financial strategies to enhance operational performance.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel, Sage Software and MC Office tools
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred work experience and background:

  • Possession of a B. Comm degree in Accounting or Finance or ACCA qualification, or in the process of obtaining such a degree or qualification
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the Construction, Leisure and Hospitality Industry.
  • Work Environment: Office-based in St. Julian’s
