A reputable client of ours specialising in the Maritime and Logistics sector is looking to onboard a Chief Financial Officer. This person will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and overseeing the finance team accordingly:
Duties:
Consolidation of the group’s financial statements, monitoring cash flow and financial performance of the holding company and its subsidiaries
Producing strategic plans to improve the company’s overall financial health
Review of monthly and quarterly financial reports of the respective operating subsidiaries, while assisting with monitoring of processes and providing support in increasing revenue and cost optimisation across the various companies
Identifying and analysing investment opportunities, preparing the annual financial reports and other reports
Ensure that the business complies with its statutory fiscal and corporate obligations as well as guide finance team members in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and mentoring
Manage the preparation of tax returns to ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other statutory requirements as
well as providing advice to the CEO for effective strategies for minimising any tax liability
Provide professional leadership and technical guidance in identifying and evaluating financial risk factors in all activities and ensuring internal controls are functioning effectively to mitigate against risks that may arise
Develop and implement continuous improvement of accounting systems and procedures that will enhance the
quality, timeliness, and availability of financial information
Skill-sets and Requirements
Experience in mergers and acquisitions and a focus on interpreting, analysing and presenting data will be considered an asset
Must be a team player that takes ownership and accountability and demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate, inspire and manage small teams
Must have excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
Education & Experience
Must be a locally qualified accountant with relevant work experience, preferably in an internationally-focused organisation.
