Assistant Financial Controller

The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Finance Department in financial reporting duties by ensuring accurate, timely, and complete accounting records. This role requires adherence to applicable financial regulations and legal standards and contributes to the integrity of the organization’s financial operations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare periodic financial reports as directed by the Financial Controller.
• Participate in the month-end process for monthly management accounts.
• Perform and review monthly reconciliations.
• Maintain and update accurate accounting records.
• Coordinate and provide support for internal and external audits processes.
• Compile necessary documentation and explanations during audits.
• Assist in evaluation and updating internal controls over financial processes.
• Support and coordinate finance-related internal audits.
• Manage the monthly payment run process.
• Assist in monitoring and managing the hotel cash flow.
• Calculate and post accruals and prepayment monthly.
• Review monthly sales reports and analyse discrepancies.
• Review supplier reconciliations.
• Supervise and support the finance team’s daily operations, including accounting postings, invoicing, supplier payments, and payroll entries.
• Collaborate in the implementation of finance projects and system improvments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• In possession of a Diploma in Accounting or a related qualification;
• Previous work experience in a similar role, preferably with the hospitality sector;
• Proficiency in Excel and having a strong command of written and spoken English;
• Effective time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
