MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare regular financial reports as requested by management.
  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Review and finalize journals for monthly management accounts.
  • Assist in the month-end process for accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Provide assistance in corporate tax obligations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Provide documentation and explanations during audits.
  • Coordinate with the finance team on internal control system updates around finance processes.
  • Coordinate finance-related internal audits as needed.
  • Issue monthly payment run.
  • Assist in cash flow management.
  • Calculate and post monthly accruals and prepayment adjustments.
  • Review monthly sales.
  • Review supplier reconciliations.
  • Assist in Malta Enterprise applications (possibly related to grants or funding).
  • Assist and supervise the finance team in daily operations, including accounting postings, monitoring sales invoices, supplier payments, and payroll entries.
  • Assist in the implementation of new finance projects with the finance team.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • In possession of a University Degree in accounting or an equivalent qualification such as ACCA;
  • Previous work experience in a similar position;
  • Strong Excel skills and having a very good command of English;
  • Time-management skills with the ability to deliver multiple tasks / projects to deadlines;
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong leadership skills.
