Our client, a leader in offshore logistics services is seeking to recruit an Accounts & Purchasing manager. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Overseeing the team under his department, assigning work allocation, training and problem resolution
Evaluating performance and makes recommendations for personnel action
Motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
Developing and assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensuring efficiency and safe operation within the department
Developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information
Ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other requirements pertinent to the filing of statutory returns
Reviewing the company’s accounting operations to determine needs and to recommend, develop and maintain solutions to problems
Liaising and maintaining a relationship with company’s bankers, clients and suppliers
Assisting the Financial Controller in developing specific goals and plans to organise, plan and prioritise work within the Finance and Purchasing department
Assisting with the yearly audits which are carried out
Overseeing the payroll calculation process and managing all bookkeeping aspects including sales and purchasing ledgers and reconciliations
Debtor's and Creditor's control
Cash flow Management
Compiling VAT reports and any necessary NSO reports
Ensuring management accounts are provided in a timely manner
Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies
Keeping track and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Skill-sets and Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience within a similar environment locally
Excellent written and spoken English. The knowledge of other languages will be considered an asset
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized and willing to work in a dynamic environment
Experience in managing teams
Good understanding in designing and implementing internal control systems
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
Education & Experience
Holds a Tertiary level of Education in Accounting/Finance
