Accounts and Payroll Clerk

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Account and Payroll Clerk to join our team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting accurate financial accounting and auditing functions of the Company and its Subsidiary.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Accounting and Auditing:

- Assist in financial accounting and auditing functions.

- Utilize accounting software to create spreadsheets and reports.

- Present accounting issues and results to the Assistant Financial Controller.

Supplier and Debtor Management:

- Coordinate the debts of existing suppliers and debtors.

Day to Day Accounting Functions:

- Perform day to day accounting functions.

- Maintain accurate and up to date accounting records.

- Conduct bank reconciliations 

- Conduct sales reconciliations for all outlets.

Costing and Compliance Functions:

- Maintain accounting records related to costing.

- Assist in various other duties of the finance department as required.

Payroll Functions:

- Gather information on hours worked for each employee.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A post-secondary qualification in Accounts, Finance, or Business Administration, or currently pursuing studies in these areas (such as AAT, A-level Accounts, or ACCA foundation level).

• Previous experience in an accounting or administrative support role will be considered an asset.

• Familiarity with accounting software (such as SFM) and payroll systems (such as Indigo) is desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Good numerical and organisational skills, with attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.

• Knowledge of the Italian language will be considered an asset.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
