AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Front Office Porter to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Summary:

  • To offer our guests a friendly and efficient service at all times;
  • Taking account of the established service standard and Management guidelines;
  • To ensure that guests are satisfied with their accommodation and facilities.


  • Reports directly to the Front Office Manager/Assistant Front Office Manager on all Front Office matters;
  • Provides functional assistance and direction to the Front Office operation as assigned;
  • Interacts with guests as well as individuals outside the Hotel including but not limited to travel industry representatives, competitors, suppliers, contractors and other members of the local community;
  • Offer our guests a friendly and efficient service at all times, taking account of the established service standard and Management guidelines;
  • Maintain safety levels;
  • Maintain flowing communication;
  • Ensure a high level of consistent service to all guests, maintaining communication between departments and conveying all guest feedback;
  • Promote all F&B outlets and activities;
  • Know the standards and put them into practice in his/her daily work, thus actively pursuing the hotel’s objectives;
  • Become familiar with all work sequences within the Front Office Department;
  • Be available for guests at all times as a point of contact and co-responsibility for appropriate treatment of guest complaints, passing on and making sure such complaints are documented;
  • Maintain regular contact with in- house guests;
  • Attend training courses deemed necessary and put the skills learned, into practice;
  • Attend all departmental meetings;
  • Assist Front Office Agent with their duties;
  • Ensure that all wake-up calls and messages are promptly delivered;
  • Be flexible in working hours according to departmental requirements;
  • Willing to assume over-time duties when necessary;
  • Carry luggage to and from guest rooms;
  • Assist in loading and unloading luggage to and from vehicles;
  • Accept luggage for safekeeping and storage in the luggage room;
  • Check the luggage of registered guest waiting for room assignments;
  • Clean and maintain luggage room and trolleys as well as report necessary repairs;
  • Check the lobby for cleanliness;
  • Attend to telephone calls and requests and to ensure that the telephone procedures are carried out efficiently;
  • Co-operate with Front Office Night Staff and the Night Manager;
  • Be aware of persons acting suspiciously in the public areas of the Hotel;
  • Check the driveway for cars;
  • Assume night duties when deemed necessary;
  • Perform personal services such as logging and delivering messages and packages, running errands, or giving business information;
  • Be able to conduct basic business services for guests such as photocopying and printing;
  • Ensures that the standard telephone procedure is adhered to;
  • Take environmentally friendly initiatives such as using recycling paper for internal use;
  • Comply with Company Grooming Standards, and Time and Attendance Policies;
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development;
  • Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including;
    • Being attentive to Guests;
    • Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guest requests;
    • Anticipate Guests needs;
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the guest experience;
    • Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude;
    • Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints;
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Safety;
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures;
  • Ensure all security incidents, accidents are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your manager;
  • Be aware of the hotel's conservation of energy-saving policies;
  • Co-operates with the team and members of management and be supportive and loyal to the company;
  • Meets any other request given by the General Manager.

  • A good standard of education;
  • Be computer literate;
  • Knowledge of Opera, previous working experience in Front of House operations, like Check-in Checkouts will be considered as an advantage;
  • Have a good command of the English language, spoken and written, knowledge of other European languages will be considered as an advantage;
  • Able to work on his/her own initiative and take decisions when not supervised;
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays;
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar environment;
  • Team worker and takes initiative.
