A Compliance Officer position is currently available with a locally licensed bank with a renowned presence.


  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Acting as DPO of the bank
  • Assisting in the planning and effective execution of a compliance programme
  • Creating, upgrading and implementing policies and procedures to promote compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Identifying weaknesses and coming up with possible solutions
  • Overseeing the onboarding and ongoing monitoring of client accounts to ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Monitoring and assisting in internal and external audits and investigations
  • Assisting senior management in taking proper and timely decisions
  • Assisting  in the submissions and correspondence with regulators related to compliance matters
  • Any other duties that may be required for the smooth running of the department and of the company

Education & Experience:

  • You must be in possession of an MQF level 6 qualification in law, financial services, or equivalent
  • Good grasp of the regulatory framework ranging from AMLD4, PSD2 and GDPR is highly desired
  • A minimum of 3 years previous local experience within compliance is a required
  • Candidates having experience in banking and strong knowledge of banking regulations will be highly preferred


  • Fluency in Maltese & English
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Organised
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • A problem solver
