Planet HollyWood Malta is looking to recruit a Prep Chef, Line Chef and Kitchen Supervisor to join their team.  


Job vacancy: Prep Chef on a part-time basis.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of prep production. Also responsible to prep for chef's specials and to be fully knowledgeable of company specifications. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Supervisor & Sous Chef.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • The following list is not inclusive of additional responsibilities that may be requested by the Kitchen Supervisor or Sous Chef;
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices;
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons;
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters;
  • Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods;
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods;
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption;
  • Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for sandwiches;
  • Butcher and dress animals, fowl, or shellfish, or cut and bone meat prior to cooking;
  • Prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations;
  • Dexterity - Ability to use knives and culinary machinery;

SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Six months to one-year related experience.

 


Job Vacancy: Line Chef on a Part-time basis. 


POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for the overall smooth operation of the line. Acts as spokesperson on the line. Handles different situations as they arise, and meets with Sous Chefs and/or Executive Chef on a daily basis. Reporting directly Sous and Executive Chef Chef

Job vacancy: Kitchen Supervisor on a full-time basis.


POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef for overall food operations and directly supervises the hourly kitchen staff during either day/night hours. Reporting directly yo the Executive Chef. 
 

Essential Functions Statement(s):
The following list is not inclusive of additional responsibilities that may be requested by the Executive Chef.

  • Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift;
  • Resolve guest complaints regarding food service;
  • Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures;
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards;
  • Control inventories of food, equipment, small ware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel;
  • Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service;
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements;
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems;
  • Specify food portions and courses, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements;
  • Forecast staff, equipment, and supply requirements based on a master menu;
  • Perform serving duties such as carving meat, preparing flammable dishes, or serving wine and liquor;
  • Record production and operational data on specified forms;
  • Purchase or requisition supplies and equipment needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of services;
  • Collaborate with other personnel in order to plan menus, serving arrangements, and related details;
  • Schedule parties and take reservations;
  • Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies;
  • Develop equipment maintenance schedules and arrange for repairs;
  • Evaluate new products for usefulness and suitability.
