Michael Debono Ltd, Malta is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Automotive Panel Beater to join their team on a full-time basis. The Automotive Panel Beate will also be able to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Any candidates possessing the necessary qualifications and experience will be given preference. The Automotive Panel Beater will report directly to the Bodyshop Supervisor. 


Automotive Panel BeateJob Purpose:
  • The Automotive Panel Beater will repair vehicle body panels ready for spraying.


Automotive Panel Beater​​​​​​​ Main Responsibilities will include:
  • Reviews damage reports, prepares or reviews repair cost estimates, and plans work to be performed
  • Carry out repairs and alignments using body jigs
  • Repairs vehicles bodies by removing, fabricating, attaching, aligning parts and welding into place as per estimate and according to manufacturer standards
  • Removes & Refit damaged sections of vehicles for replacement by using specialist tools
  • Prepare and fill panels for primer
  • Communicates additional requests with the Body Shop Supervisor
  • Maintains communication with Estimators and Supervisor on the status of the vehicle
  • Completes all work according to the applicable manufactured standards and times
  • Assists in all other areas of the Body Shop as needed
  • Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.


Automotive Panel Beater​​​​​​​ Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The individual should possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; mechanical certification desired
  • At least two (2) years of automotive body repair experience
  • Knowledge of automotive machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance
  • Ability to operate manual transmission; pay attention to detail; determines cause of operating errors on a range of makes and models and decides what to do about it; determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and reads and comprehends instructions and information in the English language
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

The individual will be required to:
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs.
