Archdiocese of Malta is currently looking to recruit a Pastoral Officer (Maltese Speaking) to join their team on a full-time, flexible hours basis. The successful applicant will report to the Episcopal Delegate for Laity and will be responsible for promoting, encouraging and helping the apostolate of lay people in all its forms.

*Only Maltese speaking candidates and those who have a Proofreading certificate in Malta will be considered.

Job Description:
The Pastoral Officer (Maltese Speaking) will assists the Episcopal Delegate for Laity in their daily tasks of evangelization and formation of the faithful, as well as provide administrative support. The appointee may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, due to the exigencies of work.


The ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Have a recognized qualification in Theology at MQF level 6;
  • Have a certificate of Proofreading in Maltese;
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Photoshop Audition, Wordpress and in other software used for Website Editing;
  • Versed in the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, both in Maltese and English;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritizes work;
  • Proactive and driven individual;
  • Versatile and willing to learn new skills;
  • Comfortable with operating general office equipment.
